NOOOOOOOO.....I can't believe how this story ended. Death has slipped in the backdoor and stole someone they all came to love. How much tragedy can this mafia family take? That was not an accident, I feel it in my heart. This family has every one and their mother and grandmother after them. Despite all of this, they remain a strong and loving family, with each one learning their own lessons in life. Geo is learning how to be a loyal and and faithful man. He learned that lesson in South Africa and vowed not to be like Gamba, who was brutal and uncaring. His conversation with Kefilwe taught him a lot in that short time they talked. He finally got it. Sergio is finally growing up and maturing to take responsibility, and trying to gain the respect of the family. Nico is trying to win the war against the Giacanti men's curse, his love of women. He knows that if he doesn't act right, he will lose the love of his life Arianna.They have learned that blood may make one related but loyalty makes one family, but betrayal of family comes with a cost of death. Both Alfonzo and Nico learned this lesson and it hurt them to their hearts. But family is where the heart of the hearth burns the strongest and for these men, it is with the love of their wives and family. Their women, both Selange and Ari are soldiers whose weapon is love battling family turmoil.
I am so enjoying this series. S.W. Frank has a fan in me. I can't wait to continue reading the journey of this family.

I want to start off by saying that all though the book was good...I have mixed feelings. These review has SPOILERS>>>>>
..I'm distraught that it was Shanda that died...why not Ari or Melda or lucia...they had bit parts...and y complicate Nico life any more then what it is...Nico seems to be the only character in this saga that is struggling to find happiness. and when he finally wakes up and relizes that he deseves it just like the next person...here comes a bastard kid...i wish Geo and Shanda would have had more of a story..who cared about Tony? why did he get so much book time? I really wanted Geo and Shanda to get thier happily ever after. I wanted to see that change in Geo,,dissappointed.
Really wanted Geo and Shanda to get back together...what was the point in running off the mistress if you were going to kill off the main person later? just seem like the author was reaching for something to add a twist. But it was not a very good one. Still gave it a 4 bcus i love the Saga.
Selange was very powering and speak nothing but the truth in this book, I love her a lot in this book. Gotta love Selange and Alfonzo relationship, those two match each other perfectly, shanda's still up for debate. Shanda know damn well she wants to be with Geo, chick playing hard to get but they work out they situation asap baby number 2 come. That's really out of character for Maria to go that far away from her only son, especially since they have a great mother and son relationship. Hot damn Selange handle Alanda butt nicely with grace. Shoot I wouldn't want to cross her but would love to have her as a friend bravo Selange very proud of her by the way she hold it down in this book. Wow couldn't believe Domingo, dude have some nerves.
Poor Alfonzo, dude have the weight of the world on his shoulder. And wtf Sergio, hot damn you in trouble ese. I love the brotherly love Geo and Alfonzo share and was very proud with the advice they gave Sergio, sometimes he needs those words to boost him up. And I'm proud of him too, he had come a long way. Awww Tiffany agreed to join tony, I think she can open a dance studio in Sicily and teach kids especially Allie. Wtf are you serious Bianca, damn it this is too much. The end was too much I cried felt like I know her in real life. The author get me deeper into the series with every book, definitely recommend great book.

However, holding true to the meaning of 'Avarice' the vices of greed, ambition, pride, and jealousy, leads to one of the most unlikely betrayals Alfonzo has ever experienced and one he never expected or saw coming. Giuseppe, Sergio and Nico each battle and fight for the things that are most important to them in their lives, but a question to ask would be, "is it too late to salvage and/or commit to love?" In true S.w. Frank fashion, the deep, committed love Alfonzo and Selange share, continues to spill off of the pages of this book, while the twists and turns of life's evils leads to death. S.w. Frank leaves no stone unturned as she incorporates current and real life social issues like mental illness as well as what happens to a child's psyche that has never been loved by a parent, but was given material things in place of love and attention, and now as an adult equates material things and money to love. Avarice is an action packed, drama filled mystery, and a no holds barred continuation of the Alfonzo Series that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat until there are no more pages to be turned.
